Trained on piano from age 5, as well as flute, oboe & vibraphone, Brittany pursued jazz performance studies and philosophy at NYU. She was a student of the great Stefon Harris (vibraphone/composition), George Garzone (sax/composition), Tony Moreno (drums), Gil Goldstein (piano/arranging), Don Friedman (piano), and Joel Weiskopf (piano). While finishing her degree she also studied classical composition in Prague with Milan Slavicky (Requiem, 2000/01; per soli, chorus and orchestra - Czech Philharmonic) and piano with Czech jazz great Emil Viklicky. In 2006 she studied traditional Ghanaian xylophone repertoire at the Dagara Music Center in Medie, Ghana; mentored by Bernard Woma, master xylophonist, and many lessons with Jerome, Alfred. special thanks to Tijian Lobi for crafting her Gyil.
Brittany has performed for a variety of artists including rock, hip hop, soul, jazz, R&B, and afro-beat. In her own artistry, she writes original jazz and improv based musics for piano and idiophones. She enjoys touring, performing, composing, and recording. She resides in NYC.
